Transcend, a well-known manufacturer of memory modules and solutions for storage launches new line of units with Solid State Drive 2.5-inch form factor. According to the manufacturer, the new drive in question are able to provide better performance than that of previous generation, and should provide a speed read and write even doubled.

At least on paper, the new Transcend discs promise to reach a speed of 159 MB / s read and 136MB / s write, Transcend makes no mention about the type of chip used in the production of these discs, but on the basis declared speed is plausible that it is memory SLC (Single-Level Cell).

The new SSD drives are available in two different versions are distinguished by the different interface than the now usual SATA II; Transcend has decided to make available variants with IDE connector.
