Matrox Graphics has announced the availability of Extiende F1240, the new model of Remote Graphics Unit (RGU), which allows to separate the system from devices and PCs, using a fiber optic connection, enabling it to operate at a distance of 250 meters from the host computer with one or two displays, audio, two FireWire IEEE 1394, up to 6 USB devices, such as keyboard and mouse.

The new model Extiende F1240 is capable of supporting up to two 30-inch monitor with a resolution of 2560×1600. The device is equipped with both digital DVI connections, both analogue 15-pin.
